Important women in international politycs

We are Going to introduce you to three of the greatest women in politycs of today... two of them had created a career in latinamerican politycs which is one of the hardest target for women..

Cristina Fernández de Kirchner

The first woman in Argentina's history to be elected to the presidency and the second taking office. Current President of Argentina, member of the Justicialist Party. Her husband is the former President of Argentina Néstor Kirchner.

She was a Senator for Buenos Aires Province prior to taking office and was elected as President in 2007. Now she’s considered as one of the most powerful women in the world.

Michelle Bachelet

A pediatrician and epidemiologist with studies in military strategy. Center-left politician and the current President of Chile—the first woman to hold this position in the country's history. She won the 2006 presidential election in a runoff, beating center-right billionaire businessman and former senator Sebastián Piñera.

In her first year as a university student (1970), Bachelet became a member of the Socialist Youth (then presided by future deputy and now disappeared physician Carlos Lorca, her political mentor), and was an active supporter of the Popular Unity. In the immediate aftermath of the coup, she and her mother worked as couriers for the underground Socialist Party directorate that was trying to organize a Resistance movement; eventually almost all of them were captured and disappeared. Following her return from exile she became politically active during the second half of the 1980s, fighting —though not on the front line— for the re-establishment of democracy in Chile. In 1995 she became part of the party's Central Committee, and from 1998 until 2000 she was an active member of the Political Commission.

In 1996, Bachelet ran against future presidential adversary Joaquín Lavín for the mayorship of Las Condes, a wealthy Santiago suburb and a right-wing stronghold. Lavín won the 22-candidate election with nearly 78% of the vote, while she finished fourth at 2.35%. At the 1999 Coalition of Parties for Democracy (CPD—Chile's governing coalition since 1990) presidential primary, she worked for Ricardo Lagos's nomination, heading the Santiago electoral zone; and finally was sworn in as President of the Republic of Chile on March 11,2006.

Now a european lady...

Angela Merkel

Is the current Chancellor of Germany. Merkel, elected to the German Parliament from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, has been the chairwoman of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) since 10 April 2000, and Chairwoman of the CDU-CSU parliamentary party group from 2002 to 2005.

From 2005 to 2009 she led a Grand coalition with the Christian Social Union (CSU), its Bavarian sister party, and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), formed after the 2005 federal election on 22 November 2005. In the elections of 27 September 2009, her party, the CDU, obtained the largest share of the votes, and she formed a coalition government with the Christian Social Union (CSU), the CDU's Bavarian sister party, and the Free Democratic Party (FDP). Her government was sworn in on 28 October 2009.

In 2007, Merkel was also President of the European Council and chaired the G8. She played a central role in the negotiation of the Treaty of Lisbon and the Berlin Declaration. In domestic policy, health care reform and problems concerning future energy development have thus far been major issues of her tenure.

Merkel is the first female Chancellor of Germany. From 2006 to 2009, Forbes Magazine has named her the most powerful woman in the world. In 2007 she became the second woman to chair the G8, after Margaret Thatcher.

People who get involve in politycs are the ones who can control the world...

Marketing & personal image of female celebrities

Madonna, Cinderella, Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Oprah, Maria Sharapova, Paris Hilton, Shakira… What do they all have in common? They are all celebrities, well-known characters all over the world. Back in the days celebrities were only persons that were actors in movies or tv and singers and only known in the same country. But thanks to technology, information travels a lot faster and we can recognize artist from all over the world. But who decides which artist, athlete, performer or character becomes a celebrity? Well, WE DECIDE. Yeah, hard to believe but consumers are the ones that decide if an artist, host, athlete or character becomes a celebrity by creating a relationship with the celebrity only through media. (That’s why reality tv has been such a great hit because people can relate by creating a bond between the “celebrity” and the viewer)
We create this strange, almost one sided, bond with the celebrities which gives them more credibility and support, because we feel certain type of identification or relation. Celebrities and companies take advantage of our naïve association and try to sell products with celebrity content, endorsed products, collectable and brand products.

In a study called “Men buy, Women Shop”
(if you want to know more about Men buy, women shop visit this page http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article.cfm?articleid=1848 )
found that women react more strongly than men to personal interaction with sales associates and women are the 53% of shoppers. Men think of buying stuff they need and just buy that item, although women are visuals and like to watch what else is around. That is why female celebrities have a mayor impact in sales than male celebrities on men. Female celebrities normally are endorsed with products that have psychosocial benefits.

For example Queen Latifah is a “big” celebrity that has her own line called “Curvation” which embraces the fact that being big doesn’t mean that nothing will fit. This line has bras and intimate wear that helps a perfect fit for curvaceous women, creating a bond with most women’s figure in the world.
(Learn more about Curvation in http://www.curvation.com/)
Another example is Nicole Kidman’s endorse with Channel’s perfume “Channel N°5” involving us with an ideal romantic story (which women JUST LOVE) revolving around the perfume.

A huge celebrity that has a mayor influence in the women market is Oprah. An acknowledged US TV Host which talks about problems concerning to women today. She has many celebrity products such as her magazine (O magazine) and her “Oprah’s Book Club” which gives a mayor impulse to any book because if it has Oprah’s Book Club seal then it becomes an immediate best seller and many other products which she promotions during the show.

Paris Hilton is the female celebrity queen (don’t get me wrong I don’t like Paris Hilton) but she knows how to get consumers and market her image with celebrity products (and once or twice movie appearance and CD). This 28 year old heiress had her connections with A-list celebrity thanks to her great-grandparents for being the founders of Hilton Hotel. Afterwards she participated in FOX’s reality show “Simple Life” that shows how’s life without unlimited credit cards. Thanks to this reality show she became a celebrity well known around the world and took advantage to create different celebrity products. Like for example: Her 6 different perfumes, hair extensions, product lines with Kitson and Antebi.
So I can conclude that marketing of self image in female celebrities is used is a great way that companies sell their products, and celebrities create their own celebrity products and you just need a pretty face and a opportunity...
